02 / OMNINOUN ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY

Design what
lasts.

OEP is an engineering philosophy being developed by Omninoun. It structures collaboration between people, software, data and agents.

AN IDEA TO EXPLORE

Change the agent.
Keep the system.

The model produces an answer. The system retains the rules, decisions and evidence. Try replacing the agent: the shared memory stays in place.

This demonstration illustrates an architectural principle rather than a live product.

LIVING ARCHITECTUREOEP / FIG. 01
An intention flows through orchestration and agents; evidence remains in shared memory under human governance.HUMAN INTENTORCHESTRATIONDATAAGENT AVALIDATIONMEMORY · CONTRACTS · EVIDENCEGOVERNANCE

Agent A active. Memory retained.

Conceptual demonstration · No external services connected.

Ten principles.
One shared standard.

01

Specialisation

One clear responsibility per role. A team of specialists, with explicit contracts for every agent.

02

Routing

Assign each task to the right specialist. Make the choice observable, measurable and overridable.

03

Governance

Separate execution permissions from decision-making authority. Keep explicit points for human judgement.

04

Determinism

Use rules and calculations for anything that can be determined reliably.

05

Abstention

Return “unknown” or “undetermined” when the evidence does not support a conclusion.

06

Traceability

Connect a question to its facts, evidence, decision, implementation and tests.

07

Replaceability

Change a model or agent without losing contracts or accumulated knowledge.

08

Living documentation

Make documentation part of the system, supporting recovery, continuity and handover.

09

Sovereignty

Choose local, cloud or hybrid deployment according to the problem and data constraints.

10

Measurement

Measure cost, quality, latency, error rates and recovery where relevant.

A philosophy in development. OEP is not an external standard, certification or officially validated method. Its principles gain value through practice, evidence and a clear understanding of their limits.
